Ice: 9"
Observations from Saturday: the ice is 9-10 inches thick with lots of water on the surface, and the bite appeared to be slow for most everyone. Our group didn't catch a crappie all morning. We did end up with a decent mess of gills but had to do lots of sorting to get there.

How’s the fishing been? Any crappies?

Tip, I was at Kate's Bait in Dodgeville today and she was saying 10 inches on Cox and shorelines are good.

Is the ice depth accurate at 6 inches for now? I know we are probably losing some right now with the temps, I'm just debating taking my atv or not. Any help would be appreciated. TipDown!

Thanks for letting me know the guy can get his property back!  As far as fishing I had pretty good luck catching a bass, crappie, and lots of bluegills.  I found the majority of the bluegills not quite big enough for me to keep so I let them all go.  A small jig tipped with spikes seemed to be the trick along with slowing raising the jig to get a nibble.  Most of the bites were very light and very hard to detect but having an underwater camera helped a lot.  I fished in the middle of the lake in about 17 feet of water and just waited for the schools of fish to come by.

If you lost something valuable today you can pick it up at the park entrance visitor station if you can identify it.

Fished today via kayak at Cox Hollow from about 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Was looking for bluegills but open to anything. Tried a tiny Panther Martin that I had on one ultralight. Nothing. Put a red worm on a hook with a small sinker and drifted around various area. Landed about 15 gills of which I kept 8. All of them were about 8" that I kept and the ones I threw back were 7 or less. Also tried a tiny lead head jig with tiny plastic. I got nibbled on a few times and got nothing. Guessing they were tiny. Great day out there ... geese were talking and talking. A few other kayaks out but most just pleasure boating. A few trolling motor guys in boats. Wasn't near anyone else to see if they caught anything.

Fished at Cox Hollow yesterday and the crappies are in full on spawning mode. Found them shallow and ready to bite. Fished a jig with chartreuse gulp under a small bobber.
