It was an okay year.  I think there is a little more pressure the last couple years, perch size is down a bit.  Highlight was when I had an old timer flip my pop-up and ask if I had a depth finder he could borrow.  I had grandma in the shack and the two of them really hit it off.  Looking at getting a bigger shack for next year!!  Anyway, stopped at the creek on Sunday, caught a red horse on a butterworm and saw a guy walking around with a metal detector.  No pike.

Well it looks like the ice fishing season is over at the creek. I went and checked on it this weekend and the creek was flowing pretty good. Lloyds bay still had a little ice on it, but not much.

It was another pretty good year on the creek. The perch really cooperated pretty well throughout the whole winter  in Lloyds bay. The northern were biting pretty slow throughout the winter, but the last couple of weeks they really turned on. The walleye bite was surprisingly very slow this winter, but that just leaves more for next year! Looking forward to a good open water season!

tight lines and I'll see you out there!!

Got out last weekend for some perch. We went in lloyds bay in about 15 feet of water and caught about 75 perch. We kept 40 of them for a meal. The only thing they would bite on was a black jig with half of a night crawler on it. Should be a good weekend for the game fish opener. Hope to see some people out there.

The perch are beginning to spawn! They are paired up. Every hole I drilled I would pull up a 7" male and drop my finky bug back down and pull up a fat female!! Just an FYI to anyone fishing gamefish here the season closes from noon til 3 PM every other day starting on day light savings until the 1st day of Spring!

I had about 16 inches of ice in Lloyds bay yesterday. I think this weekend will be the last one for ice fishing this year. We had 9 tip ups out there and 3 jigging poles in the water. We got 7 northern and 2 walleye on tip ups. Biggest northern was 37 and biggest walleye was 22. The perch were really biting right by the humps. Jigging raps got most of the perch and we also got 1 walleye jigging the raps over the humps. I should be out there one last time this weekend.

Just got in, took wife out and we nailed the crappies in Lloyd's Bay right at the weedline. I've never seen the wife so happy! Any color jig and plastic, jigs and minnows, jigs and grubs. Best day fishin' ever.

Saw northerns in the shallows feeding on blue gills, turned on some rap music and they left. Who put the new bike rack at the launch?

Stopped on the way home and the wife bought chili dogs at DQ! Great day.

Stay on Top.
