The bridge was busy today with a few boats and a shoreline of fisherman. I i did not fish here today but was told alot of short fish were caught. Send guide Jesse Quale a message. He was fishing there this morning when I drove past. He may have better info for those looking to fish this area. I thing the better bight is yet to come. The ice is all out and the Buckhorn landing is open for boat access. Buckhorn is a great place to fish without a boat the next few weeks. Please be courteous of other fisherman and be ready to compete with boats fishing the same area. The channel is only so wide there. Tight lines!!

Those of you launching off the Buckhorn to fish the bridge, the water is very shallow in areas. Be careful. No issues if you go slow. As for the fishing, a mixed bag and I did not get a legal walleye. Still fun though!

Fished from boat at Buckhorn bridge Tuesday 3/31. Launched from 32nd st launch. Buckhorn park launch was slightly iced over, I could have chipped it away easy enough if I had the tools. Should be clear by now. Mostly fished north of the bride. Was not able to catch any legal or slot walleye. All shorts. Did throw a little type "green shrimpo" ice jig over the side of boat while current was weak. Managed to get 4 perch about 9" and a few smaller crappie. Wind picked up and moved to the south side of bridge. Couldn't get into anything over there. Finished the night back on the north side as wind died down. Only short eyes to show for it. Small males were milking actively. Good luck.

Well, it took me 30 years, but I finally got a wall hanger Walleye. 28 1/2" caught at the Buckhorn Bridge on October 3rd. Sorry for removing such a beauty from the lake but it will be my last one in my lifetime that I will keep 20" or over. Sorry no pics, he is at the taxidermy. I got a 26" last year in shallow water off a large rapala. Got him off jig and minnow. Also got a 21.5" and a 16.5". My buddy came up and he caught 2 small mouth off a slippy. Lots of small walleyes too. My other buddy that was in his boat got a 32 plus inch northern and a slot walleye also. Smile Big Smile Cool
