Nungesser Lake

91 days until the opener.   We will be there.    April 1st we start watching the ice melt.   Here is to hoping for a lot of spring rains!

All Canada show was in Franklin this past weekend and so was Matt and Janelle's Nungesser Lake Lodge.....

All signed up for another trip this summer. This time I am taking the guys! Three newbies to the lake are coming up with me this year. Can't wait!!! June 7th-14th.

Anyone else all signed up??

I've heard that you can have some camp days during the first week while the ice moves out. Gotta love Canada's bi-polar weather!

We are booked for opening week.   Always have to watch the ice and you never have any idea of the weather.   We've had ice storms and 80 in the same week.

Very nice fish!!! YES.... Lets hope to a ton of rain a lots of wet snow. This was the first year I damaged a prop :(

I am already booked for 2019, this time in early June. Hoping for better lake levels...

Looks like you had a good trip.   Hoping they get some big snow this winter to get the lake back up.   Here was my fun fish from this spring.

Made it back safely late last night and once again, Nungesser Lake did not disappoint! The lake is very low, I’d say 1.5-2 feet lower than usual. Made some of my spots very interesting to get to! Already planning 2019 and 2020! 

Very jealous guy right here!! Although, Ill be almost to Dryden this time in two weeks!! Safe travels and watch out for the moose! 

• Alarm is set for 3am wake up to start the trek north to Canada!  Count down has started!!

Thank you very much for your post and update! I've never needed to use the motor insurance yet and I do not plan on ever using it!! Glad they spend time marking the hazards.

I hear that the new owners are nice. Looking forward to my week in July.

Was on Nungesser for opening weekend.   I saw the smoke from the fire the morning of.   Heard they lost some worker cabins and boats.  If you find Nungesser Lake lodge's facebook page you can see some photos of it.    Water levels are low,   The river is REALLY low,  like 3 - 4 feet from last year.  The lake about 2 feet from last year.   Had to be really careful in some areas but NLL and Birchwood did a lot of marking areas this year.   Had some great fishing days.  Our group caught 2 Pike of 47 inches plus.  I had one of them.   Lots of big pike,  weather was sunny and mid 80's and calm.  Thought is was summer.   Enjoy your trip.  They are installing electric lines on the road to the lake so it is a little beat up in the gravel areas and looks a lot different.  

For sure.  Was freaking out for a minute there!!
