Manion Lake

I just booked a five day stay at Hyatt's Manion Lake Lodge, from August 5th - 10th. I was there a few years ago in June as that is where we ended a Boy Scouts canoe trip. We fished a littlle there so I know there are big Smallies and abundant Walleye. Can anyone share any other info. We are not into fishing much but this is a birthday present for my son and I think this might just get him hooked on fishing. Do I need special permission from my wife to cross into Canada with my son? I know we needed it for the scouts. We are bringing our own boat and any tips on live bait versus artificial would be appreciated.

Canadian border crossing delayed again.

September 21,will definitely put our crew out of hope for 2020.

Hope will now focus for early June,2021.

Sad for us American’s that cannot go there this year,

but,a very sad situation for the Canadian outfitters that won’t be in business in 2021.

That’s all I have to say.

You’re the best tree knocker we have SM, looks like you’ll have to visit too!

They’re kind of like the walleye, really finicky, it really requires the right touch.

BA,

Snakester’s place is fairly close, I think he has the squatches drinking other things, not sure they’d go for a nice bottle of Vino (the kind FH brings), but then again, they’re fairly adaptive, so who knows!

FH-

Looking forward to seeing you up there my friend, I see vino, fishing, and a campfire in our future!

What a small world.  We normally go to Eagle Lake in September but not this year.

Bret did the same for us - got us a cabin at Woodlands.

What week are you going?

Let me know.

Tight lines.

Well,

A September fishing trip to Hyatts doesn’t look good either.

What I do know is,I will be fishing Plum lake,in September while staying at the Woodlands Resort in Sayner,WI.

Thanks Brent!

Sorry for the folk that go up for the opener.

Here’s a recent pict of the portage we go thru on our way to the outpost camp.
