Though could be dangerous at times if a tom is henned up and on edge of woods or fenceline u could put a stalk on him. Remember there are more eyes on you and that could be tougher for them to bust you. Another popular method that works well is get a tom strut decoy or tail fan. Crawl on your belly with the decoy in front of you (have to be somewhat athletic for this). I've crawled right into their flocks and also had toms charge right at me. All toms key in on is that fan tail and they perceive it as a threat. Good luck. Cajun
I agree with that. I've shot a few that were with hens during the morning. I would watch them for a few hours, just waiting out the hens. Eventually they all do their thing and then leave (sit on a nest, whatever). Then the toms are easier to call in. One of my quickest hunts was a day I slept in.
If I know where the hens are feeding I'll hunt there as well, no different than deer hunting a food source.
