Well I thought about it for a long while and thought ok ill buy another detector very happy with my purchase of a AT pro made by garett also picked up a pro pointer sure now it gets cold detecting is almost over for the year I guess that's ok almost time fpr another ice fishing season

Try panning for gold. The areas north and west of Portage and Poynette up to Wausau were scraped by glaciers and most all the streams gave flour gold. Inside turns in the streams or behind big rocks where the current breaks is a good place to look. Don't forget to check for property usage rules. Always ask landowners permission. I just wander thru public land.

I had the same idea thought it'd be fun to go play with a metal detector so I bought one off ebay don't ask but after I bought it found out metal detecting on state lands is illlegal wanted to look into why but never did I sold it

Nugget Lake County Park, located in Pierce County is a place with unique geological features created by a meteor that impacted there. that would be the first place I would look. Going there is on my list of places to visit in Wisconsin. Trouter

You may be better off looking for diamonds .When wells were hand dug a few used to be found in glacial till .
