Today is a good day in Wisconsin. We might actually hunt wolves someday. The DNR says it will have a drawing for them. I would love to hunt a wolf someday.

If they manage them like they should, the goal was 350 wolves which means based on DNR population estimates we are 500 or so wolves over goal and they should be removed. I have a feeling the DNR will issue less than 200 tags, and expect a success rate of 10%. Not going to make a big impact this year on the population, and at best might halt their expansion.

I wonder how they will figure out tag numbers? You can't really put trapping and hunting together in one tag, at least I hope not. Most hunters would go out during deer season only, and most would not see a wolf. Trappers would probably have a much higher success rate, I would think.
