Bass Fishing
New "Alabama Rig"
Finally heard back from the DNR about the ruling on this rig. Here's the email I recieved.
In Wisconsin, this rig would be considered 5 hooks, baits or lures, each capable of catching a different fish, and therefore not legal in Wisconsin. If it only had 3 such hooks, baits or lures attached, then it would be legal. However, with all 3 hooks, baits or lures attached to one line, the angler would not be able to fish with any other lines at the same time.

I have the Wisconsin DNR forwarding my email around trying to give me an answer as to whether it's legal in WI. Haven't heard back from them yet with the exception of I'll forward your email to some other guy.
My argument is that it's like any other crankbait with multiple hooks. I can have 3 of them in the water even if each one has 2 or 3 hooks hanging off it. This is a lure, held together by wires, not fishing line like a crappie rig.
I'll let you know when I hear something definitive.
