Fished the CAPTAINS COVE tournament yesterday.Started at 6am and pulled the plug at 1pm.Our team unded up with 13 sheeps, 6 whites, 2 cats and 1- 12 inch walleye. Most of the other teams fished the shallow water on the west end. There results were less than stellar. The team that took first place honors also won last year. They caught 2 walleyes, 1-21 incher and 1-16 incher. One 29 inch pike.We both trolled the hole.

This will be my last post from poygan till fall. The water temp at the end of the day was up to 81 degrees.I am off to cooler water.Lake Michigan is calling.

CAPTAIN WALLEYE out.

Can anyone give me some tips on finding some northerns this time of year in poygan? Im taking my 11 yr yr old this aft and he hasnt ever caught a decent fighter. Lots of walleyes and panfish, but not a 24 or bigger northern. Where might they be relating now, depth? structure? Also are there a decent population of LM bass in poygan?

Fished from 7-10:30am pulling cranks and rigs in the hole. Bite was pretty slow today, only got 2 walleyes and a sheepshead. Walleyes were 18.25" and 15.5". Lake was like glass all morning, definitely didn't help. Really didn't see a lot of action in the other boats either. Switched to bass and got 1 Lg Bass, 17". Called it a day at 11:30. No matter what it was still a great day to be on the water. Good luck fishing. Tounge Out Cool
