Was out on shore during the aftenoon and evening. Couple of white bass, at 1st they were hitting anything and everything (spinners, zips also crawlers and gulp worms off the bottom ) then fishing shut down completely. No other hits or anything else caught in the evening prime time.
Couple of guys out there in the afternoon today having some fun with the whitebass again.

Who is Tom Kemos??
I drove by the hwy 26 bypass launch and two rigs were parked there. One of which was notable. It was a Chevy 2500 with a Prestige trailer made for Yarcraft, NPAA 913 decal in the cap window and a tow spray flap with 2006 PWT Champion emblazoned on it. That's got to be Tom Kemos fishing our little pond. I hope he posts something about his experience.
The wife and I got to the water about 9:00 am yesterday. The wind was blowing out of the west and the river at the 26 boat launch had a nice ripple. We started drifting toward the lake and when we finally got close to the lake the waves were tossing her around in her seat and we headed back in the other direction. We fished until 2:00 and the fishing was not good. No fish to clean and just a little sunburn. We drove by the launch a couple of weeks ago and there was 70 rigs in the parking lot and along the road, yesterday only about 8 rigs. I guess that should have told us something. The weather was nice and it was still a great day on the water.

Got out on Tuesday from 7 am - 1:30 pm. Started out anchoring in front of waste water treatment plant with no bites casting a chartruese 1/4 oz jig with chartruese twister tail. Also was soaking a lindy rig with a floating jig head tipped with fathead and not bites on that either. From there I drifted down to the bypass bridge and caught two 14" eyes on pink 1/4 oz jig with stinger hook tipped magnum fathead. Motored down to the hole in front of the River Front Resort and had one on but lost it. Caught three more from there to the mouth, all but one on the stinger hook. All fish were 13.5" - 14.5" and still milting. Surface temp. started at 52 degrees and warmed up to 54.
A little windy and tough for boat control with trolling motor batteries needing a charge but another great day to be out on the Rock River! I talked to a buddy and that evening he caught 9 fish with 3 being legal off the wall in downtown Fort. I guess I should have left the boat on the trailer or maybe fished that evening instead of daytime.
So far in two outings this year the count is 11 shorts and 0 keepers.
Good fishing to everyone!

Fished the last two days. Fishing yesterday was not bad, lots of 14" fish, lost one legal at the boat. Much slower today with a few shorts. Saw a few people with some keepers. Be back next week. Water was anywhere between 51-54 degs.

Took a run across the lake from Newville this morning, actually easier that dragging boat all the way to Fort and try to find a place to launch and park. Made 3 long drifts about an hour each trying to stay in 10 to 14 ft. of water, were about 15 other boats out ,everyone was playing nice. Jigged a 1/4 bottom bouncer tipped with med. fathead & with stinger hook, caught 3 short walleyes was all, but maybe I learned something in the process. Seemed a couple of boats had a drift pattern they were following. Water temp was at 50 degrees, best might be yet to come. Bet it will be a zoo next couple days.

I wasnt reffering to the gabage!!! I was talking about the "wake" issue. Also to everyone using the blackhawk launch, be sure to hide any take-able items in your vehicals because as I was coming back to the launch there was a younger fella walking around the parked trucks and when he saw us in my boat he made a bee line for his car and floored it out of the parking lot. he was driving a light tan/gold saturn.
