Fished the Newville area for 6 hours. Got a mixed bag of stripers, walleyes and saugers. Picture of 1 Sauger caught in the river and 2 walleye that we caught trolling in the Lake. Fish were scattered, caught a couple here and then moved on and caught more in other areas. Lake was as calm as glass in the afternoon. Jig, minnows and gulp both worked. Walleye caught trolling on a Rapala and Lindy Shadling, both hit very hard. Weather was great.

Trolled river from Harbor Rec out into lake pulling # 5 shads straight lines, first round trip I had 3 white bass and two short saugers, thought it was going to be a good day. In next 4 passes never had another hit, hung it up about 4:30, just enjoyed being out this late, tomorrow were heading to Fort give river one last shot up there, taking the jigging rods..

Was out for 6 hours Saturday. Had a few bites and one keeper to show for it. It was a big male. Water temp came up to 42.7 by the time i left. Water visability was only a foot.

Sunday we had a few bites until the wind started blowing right down the pipe. Boat control was a major issue. Finally gave up at 4:30.

Anyone fish this area in the open water during the winter? Im itching for some open water, and i just got some new line. I noticed this is open most of the winter. Im thinking just to fish under the highway bridges or something. Let me know, and if i go, ill report back.

First, a little business, then a report. If you lost your Chrysler Corp. keys at or near the boat launch downstream by the DNR facility, I have them and can get them back to you when you identify them. Fished Monday, Nov 3rd, and caught small walleyes and large white bass on both large fatheads and 1/2 crawlers. All caught in the river--nothing in the lake.
