Conditions: Cloudy     Air Temp: 31° - 35° F

It was a chilly day, but after a long holiday weekend with no significant fishing, my son and I snuck away before the sun rose to get some fishing in on the mighty Rock. We only saw three other fishing boats out. My son commented that there were a couple other "hardcores" out today. When I inquired what his defenition of "hardcore" was, he responded "guys who were nuts". He did not think we were nuts after I netted a 26 plus pike for him to end the day around 3 pm. Other than a 16.5 male eye, All we caught, and saw caught were short saugers and eyes. A few sauger were 14's, but they are still swimming as I believe the min length is the same for saugers and eyes on the Rock River. The crappie fisherman from shore reported a tough day and were moving around quite a bit. It appears that Beast and DE were out on a good day. Congrats on a fair meal of eater crappie. For my son and I, we certainly took some time to give thanks for our blessings. Among the many were a clean river to fish in. OZOB

Terrible morning today. Fished the holes above fort and below 106 bridge. Vertical jigged with plastic/minnow mostly. Tried variations of the previously mentioned with squat to show. Got one short snap jigging the shallows with plastic. The last 2 saturdays I have done very well on the big girls and it seems to have shut down. Will try again when the moon is at full phase.

Tight lines,

Jimmy

Sorry not a report. I really need help w/ my LGC-2000 GPS module. I think it has bit the dust but would like to plug it in to another head unit. Anyone of you guys have this module for your head unit? Perhaps I can stop by and see if my module works w/ your head unit. I live in Janesville. I am having a difficult time contacting Lowrance. Just want to know if I need to purchase a new module. Please message me if you can help. Thanks a bunch.

Its a dip bait that comes in a jar. I get mine from Bobs Bait in milwaukee and Fleetfarm. The liquor/baitstore by the Jefferson Dam carries it also.

And killer... are you not ready any of the fishing reports? The "Catfish" thread is very helpful. All the baits people have been usin will work anywhere catfishs are found. You just got to get out there and stop asking questions you already have answers to. Wink
