Left harbor at 6am waves were 1-2ft took about an hr to get them all. Set up in 70 trolled to 130 back to 100. We did have our first king of the year down 70ft this morning. If anyone wants to get out give me a call. nolanstopguncharters.com
Considering there is a small craft advisory going into this evening and the wind direction is out of the north likely to be quite bumpy tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon might be fishable, but the bite seems to taper off as a day moves along.
Before I go to Lake Michigan, I check a number of sources to get a sense of conditions that I will be facing. I have apps for Windy, SailFlow, Aviation forecast, both near Shore and offshore Lake Michigan forecast and lastly Wunderground. I also check what the wind velocity and direction was 12-24h before I launch.
Despite all that information sometimes the weatherman is just flat out wrong. It is typically a 2 Hour Dr. each way for me to fish and lucky I am retired so I can pick my days. I have a 21 foot boat and anything over 10 to 12 miles an hour with north east or east directions I switched to bluegills.

Never made it out last week, schedule didn’t work out. Was thinking about trying tomorrow AM. Can you guys give me a read on the waves? NDBC / NOAA says 3-4 tonight and 1-2 tomorrow. Does that mean it’ll be about 2-3 at 5am? I’ve got a 20’ Polarkraft with a deep hull. It’s a big boat for most lakes, but not Michigan! I’ve gotten tossed around out there pretty good a few times. Fishing continues to be excellent! Same program, couldn't get the lines in fast enough so the captain got a meal too! 30 minutes limit yesterday.
