Mauthe Lake

Fished 9am to 5pm today. Ice is still in great condition. Bite remains pretty slow. Lots of little panfish out in the middle on camera. They would occasionally bite on wax worms and dark color jigs. They shut off at sunset. Managed to catch 3 of the large mouth bass roaming around with minnows on tip ups. 

Interesting, never knew that before. Wonder if that information is on Long Lake also asconnected to Milwaukee River? 

I caught one a few years back.  They’re kind of rare and inhabit the Milwaukee River basin.  They’re a protected species.

I didn't have anything on size regulations. That is posted at the landing though. I just noted the special reg for not keeping the longear sunfish from the lake. 

What was the deal in regards to the size limit? I checked but couldn't find anything. Thanks

Somehow my earlier post was deleted. I don't remember it exactly but went out Saturday and fished from noon to sunset. Ice was 8"-10. Bite was slow but saw pike, bass and gills on electronics. Had luck with wax worms and red spikes, nothing on live bait. No marks or bites along the weedline near shore, perch and crappie were out in the middle around 20' of water but bite was slow. 

What happened to the fishing reports on this lake and Auburn as they disappeared ?
