Sturgeon opener is Saturday and I expect im not the only one looking forward to fishing at PDS. With the lower water this year, I also expect a lot more people to be piled up below the dam looking for deeper water. Anyone else going?

Does anyone have a recent water temperature? Thanks 

the garbage at the dam is terrible not sure why people want to turn this into a third-world country maybe they just want to feel at home.    but I will be there this Saturday with a box of garbage bags if anyone would like to help be starting at 8 prairie side 

Does anyone know if there's shore access to the river at the Dam on the Golf Course side? I didn't think there was access there for many years, but a local recently told me otherwise. I'm wondering what's true? 

That explains all the used salt packets and squeezed limes I saw laying around. At least it wasn’t Budweiser 

Honestly, we need to get some more frequent visits from law enforcement because calling the tip line fails.  By the time it’s dispatched out to a warden the violators are long gone.  The violations that I observe are out of hand.  Modelo and Corona bottles all over the shore, loads of other trash left everywhere, people gutting/cleaning fish and throwing the refuse in the water, almost everything caught goes home regardless of size.  It seems that some users of this resource wont be satisfied until it resembles a river in a third world country.  I’m just disgusted and disappointed, rant over.

Sorry had to ask..so I hear it is legal to catch and keep shovelnose sturgeon? What is the regulation/season? Would like to try catch n release for fun. TIA!!

Well what I am doing is not working. Fished tonight for about an hour and a half off shore below the dam. Threw jigs with plastics and also just minnows on a hook. Not a bite. I waded out in the water up to past my knees. Lots of folks out fishing tonight but not much catching at all. Saw a fish boated and one small fish (not sure what ... sheep, white bass, ... ) caught from shore. Bunch of folks still fishing with big rigs and rod holders. Nothing for them while I was there. Water kinda low. So the catching was not good tonight but man it was another beautiful night. 

Fished tonight for an hour or so at dusk. Was shore fishing below the dam wading to my knees. Threw a jig and minnow with no luck. Threw just a minnow ... nothing. Lots of folks out but no one catching much. Saw one guy land a sturgeon. Beautiful night. Bugs were off and on depending on wind.
