55°
Water: 58°
Fished from 5-10PM last night. People were catching fish from boats, the fishing deck and from shore.
Not fast and furious, but the fish are there.
Water temp was 58-59°. It was a nice night when the wind died down.
Only one 17" walter for me. Anchored, using 3-ways. Half crawler on a gold hook.
Nothing on minnows for me.
Lots of weeds and debris under water catching on the lines.
Wolf river rigs pretty much a must to keep the bait clean.

Carpio the other thing I think keeps a lot of fishermen off the fishing piers is the fact that they charge to fish off of them. If they were free like the old bridge was I think it'd be a little more crowded. I also think the fish migration changed once they added the new bridge in. Perhaps the current changed a little with new pilons in for the new bridge, I don't know, but I almost never hear real good reports coming from the fishing bridges anymore! I haven't been down there to fish the bridge in almost 20 years, but it was so crowded back then during the walleye run back downstream that when you'd get a fish on others around you would have to reel in their lines or they'd all get tangled! Still had good times down there with a floating jighead and leech and my homemade net to reach down to the water, but now that I have a boat I'd rather fish out of a boat than deal with those crowds anymore!
Caprio, I agree from years past the attendance on the fishing piers compared to the old bridge seems to be way down. However taking into consideration the horrible spring weather, and the White bass run doesn't really turn on there until Mothers day. I won't call it a complete loss. Personally I miss the the old bridge, the new structure just dose'nt do it for me.
Is I just me or is there a lot less fishing pressure since they stopped fishing off of the bridge? Even the boating pressure around the bridge has been almost nonexistent this year. I’ve been watching the cam and the new fishing docks are rarely full. In the past you couldn’t find a spot to fish off of the bridge during the walleye run.
