It is the weather. The water was very cold, then warm, then cold again, then warm again. The walleye seem to be in their post-spawn pattern now (i.e in the lakes). The whitebass were going like crazy last weekend and according to Fremont reports they are starting to spawn.

What happened to the walleye run this year? Fishing from the bridge has been very good for years but this year has basically sucked. Is the walleye population down significantly? Has the construction over the last two years changed the nature of the riverbed so much that the walleye just slip through the area? Are the walleye staying upriver a lot longer than in years past? What gives???!!
Slayer, I fished Winniconne last thur. + sat mornings, eeked out 3 " small eaters" on thur., skunked sat. From my observations of other boats it was a dead sea. Not sure how this fri. will be, but with the rain + warm weather coming the crawler bite should be hot soon. And please cut old boy some slack, he had a real rotten thing done to him last ice season.
Can we get an actual fishing report guys? Thinking about going Friday
Trust me if you forget something or you turn your back for a little while there are lotta thieves in that will Rob you blind if they get the chance !!!

This is a short video of a short trip gauging how thick the walleyes are in the Wolf River in Winneconne, WI. The new fishing piers look great! I'm curious to know how the fishing experience is off of them. On May 9, 2020 there were a fair amount of people fishing off of both piers. We ended up crisscrossing down the river starting South of the bridge down to the Marina picking up 2 males and missing a few more along the way. Hope the info in the video helps others.
Hey all I made the same comment on the lost and found thread but I left my tackle box at marble park and I went back to look for it and it wasn't there and was wondering if anyone picked it up. It was maroon Plano tackle box if you find it please pm me, Thanks,
Critter's bait shop in Winneconne is great. Not sure about a cleaning station.
Normally fish Fremont area but will be staying on lake Poygan next week and I’m checking on the location of a bait shop and a fish cleaning location near Winneconne. Thanks!
Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated
