A little behind on some videos... But it has been a struggle this season chasing walleyes.

Here is what it was like just before the storms rolled in and flooded everything.

I don't fish up there but I can tell you downstream is way passed flood stage.
I always check USGS site before I go
Gage at J bridge is currently 11.34' flood stage is 9'
Flow rate is 6160cfs. Somewhere below 1000cfs is preferable.
Wadeable water down there would be under 6'
Might be another week before water levels get back to normal.

Fished from about noon to 6:00 today. Fishing for me was slow until it hit about 5:15. I did catch some nice fish mixed in with suckers. Honestly don't know exactly how many. I had a big female pin my lure to the bottom. I know it's not a legal fish but she was pushing 28" if not slightly bigger. I caught a few post spawn females....at least two and a nice big male. Overall, I would guess under ten but four in the last half hour.
I am no biologist or fish whisperer but I was surprised by how many females I saw spawned out already.
Just a heads up and a warning. Don't use a #5 shad rap in black unless you want to catch unlimited amounts of suckers. It was insane how many tried to suck that down.
I caught the most on clown shadow rap. Big female pinned a gold and black #7 rippin rap and UV pink was effective as well as fire tiger.
With how much rain we are getting fishing is probably gonna be messed up the next couple days.

Went on 4/11. Fished a few spots on the river yesterday. Up by the dam was the least productive but the big momma's are in. Everything we caught was still loaded with eggs. Once the temp warmed up the bite started to pick up. Quite a few suckers were up by the dam. They weren't so bad further down river. River levels are way down from last weekend. One dirt bag next to us had a snagging rig with a trebble tied above his jig up by the dam. But unfortunately there's always dirt bags by the dam. Didn't see him snag any but we were ready to call the warden if he did. Enjoy the run everyone. The tug is the drug!
Fished this morning (Friday) 6-9. I didn't catch any but I saw most people leaving with a nice big walleye. I would say now is ideal time if you can go. Rippin raps seemed to be what most people were catching them on. The parking lot by the launch was full, good luck this weekend finding a spot to park and fish.
