water has been milky, not sure why since we haven't had rain in a while. Still it was a good opp. to fish streamers.
The stream banks are extremely challenging with grasses as high as seven feet. Deer flies are out in droves.
Would tell you more but my friends would shoot me.
A nice gentleman mentioned fishing the Onion, Ben But, and Nichols creek.
I was going to head out towards the Driftless from MKE this weekend, but am curious about this recommendation.
How are the streams? Clarity? Wadable? Can you fly fish easily?
Thanks in advance.

Heavy flooding on the Onion River and Ben Nutt Creek. Mill Creek at Slyer Springs was clear with normal flow. Nichols Creek was also clear with normal flow at N.
Closed to fishing until January.
anything to report?
Fished it Wednesday 7/5. Water level seems low. NO hatch or top water activity. Tried nypmhs stimulators and terrestials. No takers. Water level too warm?
Fished it Tuesday with no luck but it was very sunny. Definitely will try it again.
Wondering if anyone has been fishing here
Did u ever find out if onion river is open I was thinking of giving it a try if it was early trout season is open now
