Hey guys, was looking to try something a little different. Wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction. I am looking to try bowfishing alewife. Wondering where the best abundance of them are around. We have shot some by Sheboygan, but the waves are typically pretty rough for our little boat. Was thinking of trying the east or west twin river in two rivers. Any help is appreciated, Thankyou

Flat Sunny conditions Wednesday evening off Manitowoc as I had 6 lines in at 47ft about 6:15PM. Annoying fly hatch so bring bug spray.  2 riggers which were dead all night, 2 braided dipsies, a 250ft. copper and a 3 color I snapped an extra 2oz on.  All spoons. We didn't change depth much working 47ft. to 60ft. and had 5 bites netting 4 fish.  Our 250ft. copper took a Brown and Coho and the 3 color our other Brown.  At Sunset both dipsies got hit missing one and keeping a smaller King I'm grilling for Supper.  Both Browns pulled pretty hard, I'm getting old as the 250ft. copper was a work out for me.  Browns are a treat for my smoke house.  Surface temps varied a bit from 59 to 62 but colder down.  Not many marks or bait.  A few more marks as I pulled at 8:15PM.  Good Luck.

Near perfect conditions Tuesday evening as my son, 18 yr. old grand-daughter and her friend fished 7PM to 9PM in fairly skinny water, under 60ft..  We had 7 fish on during that 2 hour stretch and missed a couple dandies only landing the 3 in picture yet was fun.  I used all spoons and all our bites were either riggers with long leads or braided No.1 sized dipsies set 3 out 100ft. to 120ft..  I staggered riggers 48ft. 38ft. and 28ft. they all got hit.  The fish pulled like horses coming out of the cold water to feed.  Bloody Nose, blue flounder on riggers and a green alewife mauler spoon worked on the dipsies.  I bought the grand-daughter her first ever license only $5.00 but  you still need that Great Lakes stamp with it.  Good Luck.

Partly Sunny
Water: 62°
Nearly flat conditions early AM Tuesday off Manitowoc.  Lots of active steelhead around. Seemed to me 5 of our 8 bites were steelies.   My buddy and I trolled 50ft. to 125ft.. boats were scattered between those depths just a few deeper.  Here is how things panned out.  I had both my 3 colors with spoons set first  when one took off and set me back 15 minutes setting up - eventually off near the boat.  After that two more misses on braided dipsy spoons; finally netting a smaller King off a 36ft rigger spoon.  Then a shallow set braided  No.1 dipsy took a bow in 90ft..out 100ft. set 3..  Followed by a miss off a 200ft. copper in 110ft. or so.  Then in 120ft. we had a double with a 150ft. copper spoon netting a steelhead and a King taking a 107ft. loc back rigger with the meat rig in pic..  Good luck.

A good number of boats out for a Monday off Manitowoc, Two Rivers.  Flat conditions as my son and I had lines set in 90ft. heading East at 4:40AM.  We worked 100ft. to 130ft until I pulled at 8AM and had a total of 5 bites netting 4 fish.  Here is how things went.  A 3 color took a coho with a glow orange spoon.  That was followed by a 72ft. rigger bloody nose spoon taking a King.  Shortly after a deep wire dipsy 170ft. on line counter fired taking another King on a white flasher and double aqua howie.  We only had 2 bites from 6AM to 8AM netting our 3rd King on a deep rigger happy meal mag spoon.  Bait hanging on bottom with some arch's mixed in.  Good Luck.
