I'm thinking it will take them 5 years to finish pedestrian bridge , took them 3 years to put out fishing pier . Bunch of slackers and must not fish .

First lake fly hatch of the season.  Not too bad tonight but it will only get worse.

Water is still very low.  Right now, fishing from shore is not really an option due to the low water level and the weed mass.  Used to be able to fish from shore the entire month of May for the crappie run but I don't think that will happen.  It was a great place for people to take their kids fishing.  The inlet right before the boat launch is just a mud puddle.

9 inches was the thinnest ice I found. Walked out from Asylum 1.4 miles, whole lotta nothing worthwhile. Marked a couple out deeper, even saw one small (10inch) eye on camera, but few were biting today. Gotta get out 2-3 miles I think. I too saw a few trucks launch from the east side.

Walked out from the lighthouse and fished most of the afternoon today. Moved around four or five times, anywhere from 7FOW to 11 FOW. Everywhere I went all I caught were dinky perch. Wondering if there is a better area to get into some bigger perch, or even bluegill.  And don’t worry about the ice, I walked out but I did see several trucks driving out a little ways today.
