just wondering what the ice thickness is and how the bite is for perch and walleye. i don't need anyone's spots it just i'm coming from the valley this weekend and don't want to waste a trip up.
Looking for some help. My buddy Goosebreast just got a cabin up here last year in the area. Looking for the lake in the area that would give us a best shot at a few Walleyes. (We are willing to night fish if needed) Not asking for spots just which lakes are better than others in the area from some people with more experience and time on these lakes nearby. His cabin is in Wabeno. Thank you for any input/opinions. PM if you would rather than post on thread.
Like ESPNs Monday night football show says.....COME ON MAN!!!!
This guy is trying to make a living. Im glad there is a bait shop in my upnorth town. Its tough to make it go with the little business that comes in. I think thats why he sells fireworks and all the other stuff. Just buy 2 dozen and move on or buy your minnows at Pintches. No sense slandering some guy trying to make it in a tough environment.
Happy Holidays to all,
My mistake I meant to say Lakewood. But yes it is the same bait shop.
The guy who runs it is certainly nice enough. I can also certainly afford a couple extra bucks for minnows than the going price.
However the description of the service I have gotten there is spot on. Just because I can afford to pay the price doesn't mean I have to like it. Something about watching him count out to the exact minnow and bragging about the one extra dead one he gave me rubs me wrong. Anytime I go in a bait shop where they are super stingy with their minnow/bait counts I am turned off.
Guess I'll just buy my bait at Fleet Farm from now on. Small town service like that I don't need. I guess I'm the Grinch.
We must be thinking of different bait shops, as mighty fine is Lakewood and I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences there. You should appreciate and patronize the local businesses in northern Wisconsin before they’re all gone. But that’s just my two cents. Have a good day, I hope you find a bait shop that’ll save you a dollar or two on minnows
Hey Appleton by mighty fine sport shop in Lakewood do you mean the one where the guy charges $3.50 a dozen for fatheads. Then counts them out individually and brags that he is giving you a deal because he gave you 13 since one of them is dead. Yeah that place sucks.
mightyfine sports shop on 32 in Lakewood
Coul I please get a ice report or a number to a bait shop in the area
Heading up this weekend to fish with my son what should we target any help would be great
Below 40° F

As always with ice fishing, it has been hit or miss this year, but small northern on tip ups has been consistent. Also, many marks only looking or very light bites every time out which gives me hope all day.
