History & Status of the Fishery

Juno Lake supported average numbers of walleye in 2010. Since 1991, the number of walleye caught in assessment nets in this lake has decreased, but their mean weight has increased slightly. The largest walleye taken in 2010 was 20 inches long. Annual natural reproduction has been reliable, producing all the walleye now in the lake. Walleye growth rates were close average for this class of lake.

The northern pike catch has fluctuated widely in past assessments of this lake. The 2010 catch, and average size, were near the average for the lake class. Growth rates of northern pike collected in 2010 had been close to average for the lake class.

As in past assessment netting, few yellow perch were caught. White sucker appear to have declined in abundance.
