W. Bass Lake is mainly considered a trout by locals. It is full of LM Bass in the 11-15 in. range. I have caught a few SM bass. The water very clear and the bottom is mostly sand with very few weeds, there are quite a few trees that have fallen into the water over the years and quite a few docks. There are several fish shelters in around 12 FOW. The boat ramp is poor at best. I was able to get my 21 ft. bass boat in but it wasn't easy. There is no loading dock. The campground at this lake is nice.
