I fished this lake yesterday 5/8/2014, thought the first hot day would turn the bass on ... no such luck.
I did find HUNDREDS of carp spawning in the shallows and hooked two of those for a heck of a long battle. One Northern Pike (22 inches)and one 8 inch bass. Could not find the Crappie. If anyone reads this and wants to be nice give me an idea where to find them. At 1,980 it a big lake to hunt on.
Also wanted to correct the main page for this lake on Lake Link There are at least two ramps, one is state ran and the Marina has a launch right on M30. Two miles NORTH of the bridge is a bait shop with minnows and worms.

Wixom Lake is an impoundment of the Tittabawasee and Tobbacow
River systems. The system holds very good populations of Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Walleyes, some Musky from
former DNR plants. It also hold excellent populations of Black
Crappies and Bluegills.
During the spring the crappie populations head for the many canals that are disspersed throughout the watershed. Ice fishing for panfish takes place at Muddy Bay in Albright
Shores and directly out of the access located of M-30. Crappies
are targeted here due to the deeper water where they suspend.
Most pike and musky tip up fishermen set up north of Albright
Shores off Jones Road. Follow the cut out to the main river
and head south about 150 yards and your there. A large flat
comes up from the main river channel. Mixed with many weed
beds. Excellent area for pike and musky. On ocassion thhe panfish action can be very good here also.
