Area lakes are almost completely ice free. A few have some new skim ice that formed in the bays that will likely be gone by the weekend.

Black Crappie - Fair: Pick up crappie from the fish house using tube jigs. Most fish are 8 to 8.5 inches.

The lake is ice free.

Most area lakes are completely open but a few are holding onto some ice.

The lake is almost completely ice free.

Black Crappie - Fair: Anglers are having success catching crappie from the fish house using tube jigs. Most fish are 8 to 8.5 inches.

Water temperatures are in the mid to upper 70's in most area lakes.

Bluegill - Fair: Fish are around 7-inches. Try a piece of crawler under a bobber near edges of vegetation or structure in 2-4 feet of water.

With warmer water temperatures some lakes are experiencing mild algae blooms.

Bluegill - Fair: Look for lots of 7 in. bluegill in clearings in the vegetation near shore. Try floating a bobber or using a small jig tipped with live bait or a plastic.

Water temps in the area are around 80 degrees. Panfish have finished with spawning activity and can now be targetted in more offshore habitats.

Bluegill - Fair: Anglers have had luck with bluegill fishing from the jetties. Most fish are in the 7 inch range.

Water temps in the area are around 80 degrees. Most panfish have finished with spawning activity and are now moving to deeper habitats.

Bluegill - Fair: Anglers have had luck with bluegill from shore. Most fish are in the 7 inch range. Fishing from the jetties has been productive.
