Mississippi River Pools 16-19: Tailwater stages are forecasted to rise over the next week. Boat ramps are opening back up with the warmer weather. Ramp conditions may change with snow in the forecast. There has been some tailwater fishing for walleye and saugers. Main channel water clarity has been fair. Unsafe ice conditions due to recent heavy rains, rising river levels, and warm weather. If you have questions on fishing Pools 16-19 contact the Fairport Fish Hatchery at 563-263-5062.

Sauger - Slow: Fishing for saugers below the dam has been hit or miss. Try vertical jigging with minnows or trolling stickbaits.

Tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 17 at New Boston is 6.08 feet and forecasted to reach 8.0 feet by the middle of next week. The Toolsboro ramp is open but conditions may change with snow in the forecast. Tailwater fishing for walleyes and saugers has been hit or miss. There is unsafe ice conditions with recent heavy rains, warmer weather, and rising river levels.

Walleye - Slow: Fishing for walleyes has been hit or miss. Try vertical jigging with minnows or trolling stickbaits.

There has been some tailwater fishing for walleye and saugers. Main channel water clarity has been fair but conditions may change with the rain. Unsafe ice conditions due to recent heavy rains and warm weather. If you have questions on fishing Pools 16-19 contact the Fairport Fish Hatchery at 563-263-5062.

Tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 17 at New Boston is 4.8 feet and forecasted to reach 7.2 feet by Sunday. The Toolsboro ramp is open but there is still some flow ice coming down the channel. Tailwater fishing for walleyes and saugers has been hit or miss. There is unsafe ice conditions with recent heavy rains, warmer weather, and rising river levels.

Walleye - Slow: Fishing for walleyes has been hit or miss. Try vertical jigging with minnows or trolling stickbaits.

Mississippi River Pools 16-19: Tailwater stages have been on the rise the past few days. With the cold temperatures boat ramps have frozen back in. Many of the backwater areas had open water last week and froze back up the past few days. Unsafe ice conditions. If you have questions on fishing Pools 16-19 contact the Fairport Fish Hatchery at 563-263-5062.

Tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 17 at New Boston is 5.34 feet and has risen close to 1.5 feet the past couple of days. We have not received any reports on boat ramp conditions at Toolsboro. Unsafe ice conditions.
