Quality fishing is ramping up on the Mississippi River for multiple species so please take some time and enjoy the bounty the Mississippi River has to offer. If you have angling questions, please call Bellevue Fisheries Management at 563-880-8781.

Freshwater Drum - Excellent: A worm and sinker rig is the best tools to use to catch abundant drum. Try fishing current eddies or areas of modest current for best results.

Sauger - No Report:

The water level at Rock Island is rising and near 9.5 feet. Water clarity is fair and water temperature is around 59 degrees.

Channel Catfish - Good: Fish a worm or catfish bait in the shallows as the water rises.

Ice flows have all nearly stopped on the river although chunks can occasionally be seen. Ice fishing is taking place, but ice is suspect in many places and not recommended. Water levels are slightly rising throughout the district. If you have angling questions, please call Bellevue Fisheries Management at 563-880-8781.

Sauger - No Report: For most of the river the walleye and sauger bite has been tough. When fishing is slow try to concentrate on using bait, and stinger hooks.

Ice fishing is underway with most district backwaters appear to have at least some solid ice but please avoid discolored ice. Also, be warry of snow covered areas as they might not have frozen despite the cold temperatures. Water levels are stable throughout the district. If you have angling questions, please call Bellevue Fisheries Management at 563-880-8781.

The water level at Rock Island is steady and near 5.4 feet. Water clarity is good and water temperature is 32 degrees.

Bluegill - No Report: We get very few reports on ice fishing in pool 15 as the pool contains very few backwater areas that are essential for pan fish.
