Most Mount Ayr district lakes have variable ice conditions ranging from 4 to 8 inches. Some lakes had areas of open water earlier in the week. Additionally, heavy snow cover on some areas of the lakes will affect ice thickness. If you decide to go fishing, use extreme caution and check ice thickness often. Limited ice fishing activity observed this week.
