TOPO MAP FOR MEMBERS
The bluegill population structure is poor. During the 2019 fall electrofishing survey, only 1 bluegill over 7 inches was collected.
No channel catfish were collected in the 2019 survey. However, channel catfish have been collected during prior surveys and appear to do well in this lake.
Pinckneyville City Lake has a poor crappie population consisting of both black and white crappie. Few crappie over nine inches have ever been collected from this lake. Anglers are encouraged to harvest all crappie caught regardless of size to help thin out the population and increase the average size.
Although catch rates of larger size classes were down for largemouth bass, bass fishing in Pinckneyville City Lake should still be good in 2020. Of the 71 bass collected during the 2019 fall survey, 24% were over 15 inches and 7% were over 18 inches.
The redear population shows promise with fish over 8 inches present, but not in large numbers.
A fall electrofishing survey is conducted annually at this lake. All fishery information is based off these surveys.
