Lake Kakusha is a 53 acre lake located on just off Illinois Route 251 in Mendota Illinois.
Lake Kakusha is owned by the city of Mendota and the Fishery is managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Fishery Division. Lake Kakusha has one boat ramp, but the lake has a no gas motor regulation.

BLUEGILL
Average AVERAGE
The Bluegill population is in low density, due to lacking habitat and vegetation. Bluegills average 6.5 inches and are in fair condition.
CRAPPIE
Fair FAIR
Black crappie are present in Lake Kakusha in high densities. The current population is in ok condition but will need to be monitored. Most of the fish in the sample were 7-8 inches long. Black Crappies were stocked by a fisherman sometime in 1999.
LARGEMOUTH BASS
Good GOOD
Lake Kukusha has a history of an up and down Largemouth bass populations. The current population is representative of a population that has issues with recruitment. The current population has many fish over 15 inches and a few over 20 inches in good condition, but younger year classes are missing in the population.
