bobo, in the backwater area, mostly just panfish. I have only ice fished there. I haven't been out there in over a year. With recent rains, water level should be up. You can shore fish the main river & there is any species in the river system in there. Some huge walleye & northern pike.

What species are usually present at the Trask Bridge Forest Preserve? It would be an hour drive, walleye and smallmouth bass would be worth the trip. Thank you in advance for your help. TIGHT LINES

You can start by fishing either the river or the backwater right at Trask Bridge forest preserve. You can also try where the pec and sugar rivers join together in Shirland.

Anyone have suggestions for shore spots or at least where to start? Not from around the area but don't want to trespass.

Has anyone been out on Pecatonica?  How is the water depth?
