Fishing was slow. I had no bites (2 wind flags) over 4 hours.was informed a 17 and 17 1/2 inch LB bass were caught in the 1st two hours. Also saw what I believe was a 30 inch pike on a tip up 200 ft south of my position.

Island lake Lions club has their annual ice derby tomorrow, Feb 2nd. See their online flyer for details. No bait on site.
Eastway Park is the registration site and can offer parking to access the lake. LZ
Where can you park to icefish on Island lake?
Anyone been out towards the middle of the lake? I feel confined to one area that I know is safe. Would like to venture out further and find the fish! Had about 4 inches by one of the beaches but that’s it
The ice was a little iffy. 2-3 inches of frozen slush on top of 2-3 inches of ice. In some spots the slush was not frozen. I did not feel comfortable venturing out very far.
I would also like to know where parking is allowed to ice fish on Island lake.
Any ice reports???
Where can a fisherman park to access the lake?
6° - 10° F
About 4.5 to 5 inch of ice. This was on Saturday 12/30/17. All fishermen reported the same. No action at all. No reading on cameras or radar. One guy said he caught a bass thats it. Didn't know the lake was an average depth of 5 feet though? That kind of stinks. Everyone says dont fish the bay ( which is where i set up) but if its all 5 feet deep why would it matter? We stayed out for an hour or two, not one fish sighted.
Where can i park to get on island lake?
They finally put limits on this lake. They are posted all over 15 bluegill 10 crappie etc. No charge for ice fishing, only stickers for summer boats.
