Great weather for opening day 

Anyone know when the holiday hunt at bong is this year??

Great weekend. Saw 5 roosters Friday before work (no shot at 3) but still got my limit. Got my limit on Saturday and saw a total of 7 roosters. On Sunday got out for a quick hour hunt and kicked up two with no shot, but beautiful morning. All 3 days in the same public area. They are in thick swamps and trees. The birds are still out there but you got to work. 

Well they changed their mind, lol. They put all the birds out yesterday afternoon for today. For some reason charged only $5 today, but their were plenty of birds today. So tomorrow will be only $5 and no stocking this afternoon.

Got a four man limit today at Bong; they are stocking thru this Sunday and then they will be stocking for the Holiday Hunt towards the end of next week; exact date(s) for that are not being revealed. Good luck

Tried a couple places today and the dog never became interested.  Got some nice exercise.  Dont think they did a release after deer season that I noticed.

My Callie girl had a awesome day at bong yesterday!

At only one year old she put up 5 birds and i put down my limit of 2 birds and some lucky hunter took down a 3rd! 

Very happy I hunted a game farm last year as a 6 month old puppy because she has this pheasant hunting mastered already!

walked for a few hours yesterday AM out at Jackson, no birds, nice beatin down walking paths though, be careful for the piles of dog crap though.

Took the pups out today with my son and father in law,  great day for walking.  No birds , one spot still has a lot of standing corn and th as ts where they got birdy. Odd last year we saw alot of birds this year not so much. 

Took the girl out for a hike yesterday  on a large wpa pheasants forever property, never cut a track either or put up a bird, hit some thickets and marsh as well. nada still a nice day for a walk.

Hit four spots today,  nothing was flushed.  Didn't even see a track in the snow. Hopefully better luck next week. 

I have some great looking English springer spanials. On trading post. I hunt with both the male and female.

took a walk at scup this afternoon for the last little bit of light after clearing the crud off the drive.  no birds.  was hard to walk, got a lot more than they predicted.  

They released today at multiple spots.  Unfortunately for my horrible shooting I came home empty handed!

I was out this past Friday in the Footville area. Got 2 in about a hour and half. I spend most of my weekends guiding And with my job I don’t get out much during the week. Mostly just Wednesday and Friday.
