Just wondering what every one does during the day and evening? Work? Play? Fish? Camping? Gardening? Smoking? You get the idea........ I work up early to put the venison jerky in the dehydrator and took the fiancé to work and then when I got home I made breakfast. I fixed the bath sink and took a nap. Then I sat around having a few beers waiting for the jerky to get done. Tried to read a book but that's not for me. Oh yea, I cut the lawn b4 the rain. I better save sum stuff 4 2maro. Just wondering what you guys do during the day and evening. Let's here it.

I woke up at o'dark thirty and prepped the fishing gear.  Originally, my son wanted to go and specifically target muskies today on lake "A".  However, he had an all-day medical school exam this week and backed out of fishing at the last minute as he was exhausted.  So, I took the smaller boat, one musky rod and a few lures, one bass rod and pike/bass tackle, one spinning rod, the tripod, one of my musky nets, and planned to hit several other lakes instead.

I fished 3 different lakes today and caught fish on all 3.  In total, I caught 5 largemouth bass, 12 pike (several real nice ones), and a very nice musky (mid 40's).  Several of the bass and a couple of the pike were caught on topwater (whopper plopper)...so much fun when that lure gets vacuumed off the surface.  Also missed/lost several fish that way.

The mid-40's musky I actually caught on a bass/pike lure with 14 lb. mono on my bass casting rod.  What a battle!  The musky completely engulfed the lure and only a couple inches of the leader was sticking out of its mouth.  I really had to take it easy and play out the fish so it did not break my line.  There were several rod bending, drag pulling runs. I was by myself and it took several attempts to get it in the net because I could not horse it in.  After netting the fish, it took a "minute" to get its jaws opened up and the lure out of its mouth.  I actually think it would have been much better for this fish if I had caught it with my musky gear....it would've been a much shorter battle and easier to unhook.  I was thankful I remembered to bring the tripod so I could get a couple of self-pictures.

After a couple of pics, I spend the next 15-20 minutes with that musky.  I hung onto it and pulled it forward in the water with the trolling motor to get steady water flow going through its gills.  That revived the fish quite a bit.  Then I sat by it while it rested on the surface for 7-8 minutes and then kicked away.

Nice IQ!!

I've caught small mouth before in the yak, and you definitely go for a sleigh ride lol!

Went fishing on the river today too, crappie, gills, drum, Rockies, and warmouth...

I got my motor back, so tomorrow we'll get the River skiff put back together.

Turns out there was nothing wrong with the motor, I actually got some bad gas with water in it!

Took the dog for his two mile morning walk. Then pedaled my carbon fiber Fuji gravel bike up to Beloit for coffee and a muffin. Walked through the farmers market. Rode through the old Beloit Corp campus, where I began working in the salvage yard June 7, 1976. I worked outside on the riverbank, cutting scrap steel in to pieces <18” so they could melt it down in the foundry to mix to make ductile iron for paper machinery. Beloit Corp closed in 2000. Several companies and the Beloit YMCA occupy the buildings now, employing Mary’s many as Beloit Corp did in its prime. I then came home and mowed the yard after my 25 mile bike ride.

Same as yesterday.  Spent the night in the airport in Dallas cause our plane did not land in time to connect to our next flight.  All of this happened because there was severe weather in Dallas, which delayed flights going out for several hours.  So now we leave at 3:00, fly to Seattle, wait 2 hours, then get on another airline and fly to Anchorage.  So what started out as leaving for the airport at 8 am yesterday might finally get us to Anchorage at 10:00 tonight!  From there we will still have a 2ish hour drive to get to where we will be for the next 5 days doing mission work! As of right now, it feels like we'll never get to Alaska!  Sure glad I had my cpap with me to sleep on the floor last night!  Had a makeshift pillow from 2 sweatshirts wrapped in a towel cause all of our bedding is checked in luggage! Who knows if that'll actually get there tonight after all these flights!  Our group of 27 adults and teenagers is now split up in 4 different flights, taking whatever we could on some planes that had room!  As I said, all of this because there was some severe weather in Dallas yesterday morning for a few hours!

Nothing sucks worse than sitting at the airport for 8 hours, that is agony. I hope you make it to your destination.

Rewiring my boat trailer as the last time to the launch nothing seemed to work. I guess it was overdue at 20 year's old.

Sat in an airport for about 8 hours as our flight kept getting delayed due to weather in Dallas. Now on the flight to Dallas but they cant guarantee we will get on the flight that takes us to our final destination of Anchorage,  AK.
