Big tree tore the cast iron gas main out of the ground yesterday during the storms in Chicago.

Sirens went off here about 1:50 PM.  Must've been a tornado spotted somewhere, but nothing around us at that time.  Could tell we'd get hit hard with rain in about 15 minutes and that's exactly what happened.  My gardens went from too dry to plant anything to too wet now!

Ugh. Started getting chilled about 2:00. Not a good thing when it's 90* with humidity you could swim in.

...and a man short for the job. Gave a bonus to the guy who did show up. he earned it.

Can hardly tell we got the little .94" the other day. This week sounds oppressive, so hopefully something good comes of it! I am not a HOT weather fan. Little wind switch here just made today about perfect though!

Many (most?) counties have suspended all burn permits.  Not sure about the whole state

Down my way we had a considerable amount of rain yesterday and it looks like the same is going to happen again today. Guess it's time to get the snorkel and swim fins  ready..

Despite the over abundance of rain 2 weeks ago and the continuing cool weather the fire danger is high.

Kayaker - I parked under the overpass to save my brand new truck from hail damage, there just happened to be a tornado in the area at the same time lol. When the wind shifted directions 180 degrees, that's when I decided to pull off the interstate. I love storms, takes a lot for me to get spooked by one.
