2019 updates from the stand

Look forward to stories and get a feel for movement.  Look forward to the opener tomorrow.

Been back out since about 2pm.  Have seen a ton so far probably 15-18 deer.  Only notable was grunting in a nice 8pt to 15 yards.  Saw him about 80 yards out, grunted and he came in directly downwind and caught my scent before I could draw. Marquette county private

Got the ok to go hunting before the trick or treating starts tonight..3 fresh inches of snow on the ground but windy.. they have to start moving at some time.  I'll be heading for the stand shortly

Slow cold morning so far. One small buck and a small doe that were moving very slowly. Breezy and clumps of snow falling from the trees

Plan & simple;

Hunting is hours of boredom,  followed by seconds of complete RUSH!!

 Gotta love the outdoors!

Stick with it & it will pay off!

Sat from 330 to close and saw 2 doe. Have sat about 8 times so far this year and have only seen 1 buck which was a 4 pointer. Southern Juneau cty. My son sat in my stand last nite and saw a really nice 8-10 pointer and couldn’t get a shot. 

Not a deer.  Sat 8 hours today.  Friend on the property next to me shot a doe, had a 6pt chasing and grunting, and a big 8 doing the same.  Figures.

I hunt southern Clark County. I sat 2 mornings & 2 evenings. 

Not a single deer!

This is the first time I didn't see a deer over a 2 day period!

Sounds like others are having the same problem. 

Hopefully it's because the rut is ready to kick in.

No grunting, chasing,  or fighting.

Were your efforts rewarded? I sat from 130-close only saw one 4pt buck.  Probably have to take tomorrow off then I will be out Friday night and all day Saturday. Then my 11 day vacation is over.  I have seen a fair amount of deer this week but only 3 different small bucks so far

5 1/2 hours in stands today and no deer yet.  Am 1.5 hours from morning stand.  Beautiful day to sit.  Would enjoy seeing something, you know, for the effort

Took today off work with weather and wind seeming great.  Only squirrels and birds so far. Will try another woods pm hunt. Overcast makes me hopefull they may move yet this morning. 

Slow so far. Saw tracks in the snow on the way in. Did some scouting around the fields yesterday midday and all the scrapes were freshened within the last day. Peshtigo area

Fairly uneventful morning so far. Had a 5pt walk under my stand at 8am. Just feeding along his neck was not swelled up like the 2 bucks yesterday

4 doe 2 bucks so far in southern rock county.  4pt just cruising.. spike came in grunting.  Spike was eye to eye with a doe underneath me for about 5 min before he finally ran her off.. not epic but a fun morning so far

Just seen deer number 9 for the morning.

2 bucks chasing a doe after first light. Last two does just came through at 930.
