Found some eyes on deep flat below New London. Got out at 1 PM got some whites and small eyes right away, kept at it and late afternoon the white bass disappeared and the eyes went nuts. Caught about 20 in an hour. The boys got a lesson in patience. Fun day on the river? Best bait was purple hair jig and Leach.Water was only 50deg.

For anyone who fishes on shore, i have been on shore near of New London Electric Utilities but you can't fish there before 5pm, only after 5pm when worker's leave home and this report is for anyone who uses flies method for white bass, because i'd used dark blue flies and i have done well fishing with it. Busy day with boats going up and down rivers looking for walleyes. Some part of rivers are better than other parts of the river. Try river bends.

Fished in the morning @8am-11am due to cold, rain, and hail but catching 18"inch walleye(male) half bucket whitebass. Later my team felt to keep going through the whole afternoon facing the weather and ended up with 5 bucket per person. Fewer walleyes catch 15"-18"range.

Launched out New London on Saturday. Fishing was slow but managed a couple 13-15 inch males. Johnny's only had shiners so if you want fatheads bring them with you.

You can get big boats under the RR bridge North of town right now. Water was dropping fast. Like 6 in per day.

Fished hard in New London yesterday. From X all the way to the Cable Crossing. Two 14 inch eaters and one small one (released). We saw three others caught all day.

Today, I stayed home with a touch of the flu and figured most likely was going to miss the most productive day all week. . . Just got off the phone with my fishing partner and they fished the same plan as above and caught one eater and one 24 inch spawned out female (released). They saw no other fish caught all day.

Other Reports ~ Very few people are doing well.

Awfully Slow...Saw one little milker caught. Not sure if fish already went through or if the majority haven't made it this far up yet. Going to try down by Gills tomorrow and see what happens.

Got back from the Wolf River near Wielands Landing yesterday. From Thursday to Saturday evening we managed 18 nice Crappie. Most of them were caught in the lay downs on either small jigs with a minnow or just a small hook on slip bobbers with a minnow. the crappie we all spread out not yet staging up. Drifted the river for walleye but didn't raise any. Still need the water temp. to come down a bit more.

Fished Saturday afternoon and caught 9 crappie on small jigs and a minnow. Fished @ the big eddie. Also got a few nice smallies to boot. The fish didn't seem schooled up yet. More like scattered all over. Some shallow some deep???

Good Luck!

Fished from 10-2 today between Weiland's and Red Banks. With the major change in weather we didn't have high hopes going out, but wanted to do some fishing anyways. The first hour was very slow with no action at all. We moved quite a bit and finally found some White Bass and managed to put a dozen or so in the livewell. All fish came from the same 200' section of river bank. The sun felt great, but the wind was chilly at times. The river was up quite a bit after the recent rain and the water current was rippin' pretty good. Surface temp around 64 degrees all day. Spinners took all of the fish. Nothing on flies.

Been out numerous times this year done well some days, some days they were few and far between.1/4 oz no bigger color doesn't seem to be too much preference. If you know how to jig that's all you gotta know. Some guys just troll out on big body's of water and it shows when they lose more jigs in one drift than we will all year. Just gotta be a little bit quicker than them snags and know how to work a jig that's all. Seen some guy at shaws landing yesterday too power load his big triton and thought it was a good idea to raise motor and punch it..second later 15 foot rooster tail and three or four soaked people on dock just about to head out..felt bad..but how dumb you really dumb..anyways good luck we'll be out tomorrow again pullin em in

Couple pics of fish this year

I was out yesterday afternoon on a half day trip. We had fair action between 2:30 and 5:30. I again fished 8-13 ft of water with 1/4 oz jigs. We put 6 fish in the boat. 4 spawned out females and two prespawn fish. There are very few males around. In fact I didn't see a small fish caught. I think most of the adult size fish are spawning this week. There are waves of post spawn females coming back. Get on the water this next week as spawning comes to a end and the majority of the fish start to migrate back to the lake.
