North Lake

North Lake on HWY J waupaca county... Fished from 10 am-3pm  today on a solid 3.5 inches of ice. Tried minnows and wax worns and caught 3 small perch. I was out no more then 110 yards from the boat landing. After the next few days of cold temps, I would feel ok with venturing more around the edges . 

The other day, I drove by North Lake, stopped at the launch and looked around - seems to be one of the better looking area lakes regarding the lack of overtaking weeds (aside from shoreline weeds/lily pads that I could see). The launch is a bit roughed up - needs a piece of concrete or rock fill at the first cement slab but any fishing boat should have no trouble getting in/out.  Hope to launch myself one of these upcoming days - nice little lake with not much pressure. 

What is the current condition of North Lake? Something worth checking out or are good days a thing of the past?  Tried it once through the ice in the mid-00s but never made it back.
