10 years ago the lake was great for panfish and gamefish. It had really nice bluegills, crappies, perch, bass, and pike. Its pretty much been fished out. Ice fishing really took a toll on the lake. You can still catch small bluegills, perch, and bass but thats about it. Its really sad what happened with Smith Lake.

this lake is amazing, yes the launch is tough to get a boat in, but if you have teh patience when you get on the lake the fishing is incredible. me and my buddy caughttons of bass and huge northern never any snaky one like at other lakes huge fat one's so far biggest has been the 33 incher which is in that photo. definately a great bass and northern panfish are huge as well avg. panfish size is 8 inches, but please don't ruin the great lake catch and release please.
