Per the guys at Schauss' boat rental, this lake froze all the way through 10 or so years ago. The size of the fish show it.
It is ok fishing, but most of the fish aren't keeper size or they are fished out. I did catch about 4 or 5 8-10" bluegill, but that's about the most impressive thing in several visits (ranging from June-October). The bass hit hard one time last year (2005). Maybe 10 in an hour, but only one was borderline keeper and I threw it back anyway. Maybe this lake will be better in a few years time if it doesn't freeze back over.
I like the lake mostly because it is small. All I have is a trolling motor and the rental boat.

There are lots of small pike on this "No Outboard Motors" lake. Don't fish on a windy day, thats when the fish really don't bite.
