Plum is known to have trophy smallmouth, but the population is not dense. I have fished it casually during a few family vacations and once with a guide, and it has always been difficult. I prefer the smaller lakes in the area that get less pressure. Great lake for vacationing, though! Beautiful islands, doesn't get too crazy relative to the chains.

I am no professional fisherman, but I felt like one on this lake. Panfish are huge and plentiful, monster muskies. Had a musky drag the old paddle boat for a long time before it broke off.

We tried it for a while, the DNR map was wrong and I dragged my lower unit through some serious gravel. No fish were found, went to another clear water lake in the same area and slayed the smallies. I won't be back.
