Nice bluegills and crappies, but mark your spot well. 100 ft. either direction and it's a struggle. It took me a while to find nicer ones. With no harvest on large or small mouth bass, I have caught and released some beauties. Walleyes have mostly fooled me so far. As with most northern lakes, watch out for rocks; I've seen some just below the surface while drifting, with nice scrapes from boats on them.

Excellent Crappie lake. Pulled out some great sizes. In one weekend I kept about 40 and none under 11", if they were they went back in the water. However, you have to know where they are otherwise expect to catch alot of rock bass and perch. Jigging is a prime key, also bleeding hooks.

Fished big lake and was impressed with the size of the smallies, look for the cribs and you should be able to catch atleast one even on a subpar day.

excellent fishing for small mouths, large mouths can be caught too although you have to know where to find them, which so far for me is only one place on the lake. muskie fishing is fairly good. spearing has depleted the walleyes population, they are around but not like they used to be.
