I started fishing this lake in September of 2017 and have been pleasantly surprised. There are some decent sized Northern in this lake,(25-30 inches). There's also a nice supply of Largemouth Bass with baby bellies. I always catch and release in hopes of finding bigger fish in years to come. I wish everyone else had the same mindset. I'm surprised by the number of people who don't realize their is a significant mercury contamination issue in Northern Wisconsin lakes thanks to fallout from industrial smoke stacks from the 50's through the 80's. The WDNR website has details, but in general, think twice before you eat the fish you catch at more than the suggested rate.

This used to be a pretty good lake but like many in the area it has been overfished. It's a shame folks go and try to limit out each time.
