Best Pan fishing in years on this lake. Have to
vary your presentation at certain times of the day, but still fun. Northerns still on the small side. Have to get past all the turtles, they can mess up a good thing.

I fished here quite a few times last summer. Bluegills were very abundant and most were very good sized. I also caught perch, bass, northern, and bull-head. Bass were very abundant, but almost all were 10"-13". Caught LOTS of small snaky northern (over a dozen one day in 4 or 5 hours) but very few worth keeping. Bass and northern, although generally small, were VERY abundant and made for a very enjoyable day. Bull-head were also very nice sized. If you like Bluegills (like I do) you'll like shay lake.
Went once this winter and got skunked...no bites and only one tip-up all morning, so I went elsewhere.
