Fished the lake July 15-21, 2001. Warm(80-85F), sunny weather during the day, but nightly thunderstorms may have depressed some fish activity. Constant action if you're into bluegill, though there were few large ones, and most of them have that blackspot parasite. Found some nice crappie (10-11") on the edges of lily pads in about 6' of water. Minnows fished shallow under a bobber, or small clauser minnows (black & white or white, yellow, and black) on a 5wt fly rod. Good smallmouth action! There is a sandbar at the shallow East end of the lake (marked by a float). Fish it at dusk for some real fun: rapalas, minnows, clausers, woolly buggers; they'll hit just about anything. There was also a hatch of very large brown mayflies going on that was bringing some hefty bass to the surface. My biggest was 16", but I know of a 20"+ fish being caught last year. Had no success on walleye: other anglers did, but only when fishing at night. Luck!
