Lillypads
I was able to get out on Monday and Tuesday.
Fishing was pretty good overall.
The water is up nice and a lot of the back waters are very accessible.
The weeds are not bad yet.
Bass are starting to bed up ,but there's quite a few scattered in the bays.
Spinners , chatter baits ,and lizards were working well.
I didn't find too many northerns ,which I thought was unusual for this time of year ?
If we keep getting rain , and the water stays up ,I would think fishing should be good for a few weeks ,before the weeds take over.

River Channel
Was out all day yesterday. The wind was brutal & cold. Spent a couple hours drifting & casting. no hookups and only one swipe at lure right at the boat.
We then went up the river and fished a few fingers for the afternoon, a few small BGs & a perch was all. Trolled back to launch and hooked up with a small northern.
 Beat working though.
Water temps were 50 in the lake and up to 53 in the fingers.

Fished puck yesterday. You could see bottom anything four feet or less extremely clear water. Went to the river. The flow was slow and the water just as clear.little on the graph no bites. We caught one small northern casting out in the lake. Extremely weedy.
Good fishing!

Well the rains and snow have brought the water level up good this week and possibly more rain today. The walleye wagon is up and running and will be releasing walleyes in the river that came from the lake. So the bite will be good in the nowake area. You can drift or anchor in key areas to catch some fish. Fathead minnows ,crawlers , leeches and plastics will get you bit. As water warms up troll flickers up river andthen drift a d jig back down river works good. Walleye showing up on the south shore.

Water dropped a ways this last week.good thing some walleyes showing up in some of the usual spots all ready. This time of the year fish can be moving up river sometimes at a fast pace when we have a lot more current than we have at this time this year. The river water warms up fast after the Ice is gone on Buffalo lake. Walleye that go up river usually spawn up to 2 weeks earlier than out in the lake because the river water warms up so fast. Some years when this happens a big group of walleyes will spawn in the no wake area and you can just fish the no wake area and you can just fish there all spring and catch a lot of fish.
