I am heading to Shish the first week of September. Any word on how the fishing is that time of year? What can I expect / hope to catch.
If you want to keep the kids busy, there are largemouth under almost every boat and pier. Especially in the east bay where you will find an old red boathouse that sticks out into the water. Fish that whole bay across from the trailer park with wacky rigged SENKOS. Throw it out, let it fall, close bale. Slowly take slack out of line and raise rod tip. If line moves side to side, lower rod tip and set hook. If not, throw it again. 99% of bites come on first drop.
Forget walleyes. Virtually non-existent. Crappies in the weeds near shore.
Muskies west bay of Shishebogama. Go through the narrow passage and start throwing.
Never caught much in other lake.
heading up to this lake for vacation next week. We're looking to target all species (musky for me, everything else for the kids). Can anyone help me out as to where to find fish on the lake and any tactics this time of year?? Thanks!
