Pike Lake

Walked out via the beach after returning from a vacation in Costa Rica for my son's wedding,  going from mid 90's was a shock to the system with today's wind.   Drilled a bunch of holes and covered a lot of area and couldn't find any perch over 9".  Drilled close to 40 holes. Had one huge eye come in and had a stare down a few inches from my minnow head but wouldn't eat it. Seemed like 5 min. then swam away.  Time to get the ATV out.

Walked out from the eastern side beach an hour before dark today and shot about 15 holes from 8ft to 30fow. ​There is about 6" of ice all the way out and not much snow, so easy walking.

Looking to head out on Pike Lake this weekend, any recent ice reports within the last few days? Thanks in advance

late summer off of eagles point. Drift the main basin on the edge. 20 ft of water. Night crawler and a hook. Big gills down there.

Thanks for the update!!  I'll finally have to get the ice gear ready!! Hoping to get out this weekend before the rain hits and melts all the new ice   

 I live 5 minutes from the lake and have fished it for over 25 yrs. In those years I have caught 4 yes 4 bluegill 10 inches plus and none since the invention of the lake destroyer AKA the internet I got a good laugh out of that one. I saw 3 shanties out today two over deep water that was open yesterday morning and thought they have big ones. 

Some good fish in Pike lake still. When it comes to perch, I seem to only catch one or two jumbos and that’s it. But I do it every time so they’re in there. Some nice pike too. Used to catch limits of 10in + bluegills

Drove By Pike Lake Today After Work Around 230pm. Saw at least 2 shanties 50 yards out from the state park. Good sign with these cold temps. 

I haven't been by the lake recently.  Was it open water during the last storm?

I'm hoping it was open and now putting on good ice.  Maybe this weekend?

Stopped by the state park launch this afternoon.  The lake appeared to be at least 10% covered with skim ice.  Looking at the colder temps on the 10-day, hopefully the lake will lock up soon.
